Mid-Year Checkup

“”The way we live our days, is the way we live our lives.”
----- Annie Dillard, Author
Well, we’ve passed the half-way mark for this year and it’s time to stop and acknowledge the changes you’ve made in your life so far. Has your life become more effortless? Taking the time to inventory the positive changes you’ve made in your life is an important step in developing a stronger relationship with yourself. And, it’s the best way to reinforce good habits and increase your self-esteem.
As you reflect on the last seven months, ask yourself the following questions:
1. How have I improved my health? What one change have I made in the last six months to take better care of my body?
2. How have I stood up for my life? What risks have I taken? What fears or challenges have I faced?
3. How have I grown as a person? What qualities have I strengthened or developed? Am I more patient, focused, financially responsible, or proactive? Have I been able to treat myself in a more loving and gentler way?
4. How have I shown my appreciation to others? Have I taken the time to acknowledge family members, friends or co-workers?
5. How has my environment changed? Have I cleaned up my home or office, created order out of chaos, or challenged myself to throw things out?
6. What one step have I taken to protect myself? Have I completed my will, invested in a savings plan, or increased my insurance coverage?
7. What have I done to help others improve the quality of their lives?

As you take time to consider some or all of these questions, build a strong foundation for success by focusing on what’s worked instead of on what still needs to change. As you learn to acknowledge your personal development, you build self-respect and self-trust—two key ingredients that will support you in making healthier choices for you and your loved ones.
The work you do in this process is fundamental to living a healthier, more balanced life. It’s the most important work of all. You deserve to celebrate your success.

"I never cease to be amazed at the power of the coaching process to draw out the skills or talent that was previously hidden within an individual, and which invariably finds a way to solve a problem previously thought unsolvable." John Russell, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd.
